ICSE and CBSE are two separate national school boards in India. CBSE, the Central Board of Secondary Education, follows an NCERT-based syllabus often seen as well aligned with national entrance examinations, and conducts the Class 10 and 12 exams for a very large network of schools. ICSE, conducted by the CISCE, is known for a broader, more detailed and English-focused curriculum at Class 10, with the ISC at Class 12. Which suits a child depends on their goals, not on one board being universally 'better'.
In Indian schools
A school's choice of board sets its syllabus and examinations, while its admissions, fees and records work the same way under either. A school management system runs that administrative layer regardless of the board on the gate.
