RTE stands for the Right to Education. The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 gives every child aged 6 to 14 the right to free and compulsory schooling, following the insertion of Article 21A into the Constitution. Among other things it requires private unaided schools to reserve a share of entry-level seats — commonly 25% — for children from disadvantaged and weaker sections.

The RTE quota turns admissions season into a process a school must run carefully and be able to account for. Capturing those applications in the same pipeline as every other inquiry — with the source kept — is exactly what admissions software is for.
